Here at CSV Architects’, sustainable design is fundamental to all our work. This means it is crucial that we stay up to date with the various regulations surrounding this increasingly popular topic, in an ever-changing landscape. Because CSV has our very own expert in this field (Sustainability Consultant Stephen Pope), we really make an effort to spread our knowledge to others in the industry in hopes of promoting sustainable design and making it more accessible to all.

The Ontario Heritage Conference, organized by Community Heritage Ontario, takes place each year to provide education on historical sites, building, restoration and preservation methods along with legal advice on protecting these places. The conference provides a platform for Heritage Professionals to exchange ideas amongst each other and share success stories as well as lessons learned. The conference offer tours and presentations along with networking opportunities.
Peter Simister, a member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), spoke at the conference June 10th. He presented a case study of local landmark Birkett House and CSV’s involvement in the foundation replacement and restoration of the Sunroom following earthquake damage in 2010.
